The Swedish record label Svensk Själmusik was born in 1968 when Göran Thuresson overheard a young Simisola "Söl" Loving singing during a music lesson. Thuresson, who owned the struggling record label Svensk Spelmanslag, had the insight to bring her into the studio to record some demos. That short session produced the original single, "Fika med en Kyss" (Coffee with a Kiss). Realizing he had a new star on his hands, Thuresson changed the name of his company to Svedska Själmusik and devoted his time to recording and marketing Simisola exclusively. Two years and three LP's later, Söl was a household name throughout Sweden.
