Söl Loving

Simisola "Söl" Loving (born February 18, 1952) was an Afro-Swedish soul and R&B singer who found fame throughout Northern Europe in the 1970's. Although her albums never appeared on U.S. music charts, Loving toured extensively on the other side of the Atlantic. Her lush vocals and non-conformist style helped introduce soul music to a generation of Scandinavians. Sadly, her fame proved to be short-lived when popular dance music fueled by discotheques and the Eurovision Song Contest swept through Europe.
