Our Radio Free Columbus design is inspired by the award-winning WCBE show of the same name — the cult broadcast that fed Columbus the deep-cut rock, indie edge, and no-rules playlists you couldn’t find anywhere else. Hosted by Jon Peterson in the early 90s, the show became a lifeline for listeners chasing grit, guitars, and true independence on the airwaves.
The t-shirt's design reflects that energy through a grunge-styled photo of the LeVeque Tower, which still transmits WCBE's signal today. The building's antennas broadcast lightning bolts above the Columbus skyline — while curved typography announces the name of the show. It’s a wearable shout-out to WCBE’s independent spirit — adult, alternative, and proudly Columbus.
